Workshop Guidelines

Please refer to the following guidelines for any questions you might have on your Wheel Workshop.

WHAT WILL I MAKE?

Throwing on the potter’s wheel is a learned skill that takes a lot of time, so please don’t expect to make something amazing at your first try!

At the end of the workshop, you'll have the option to keep one of your creations and select a glaze to have it finished in.

WHEN WILL MY POTTERY BE READY?

Your work is ready for pickup two weeks after your workshop. We try and send everyone a courtesy reminder email to come in and pickup your piece, these emails occasionally end up in spam folders though! All work that is over two months old is discarded or donated to make space for more student work. There are no exceptions to this rule and we hope you'll understand that space is limited and we always hate throwing out work!

MY POTTERY GOT BROKEN OR LOST

That is a bummer! We hate it when that happens. However, we know have to stipulate that the cost of this workshop is for a three hour experience on the potter's wheel and is not contingent on keeping a piece of pottery. There are no refunds for damaged, lost or discarded pottery.

There are many variables during the drying and firing process (work is fired in a kiln to 2200 degrees!); pieces can crack, stick to kiln shelves and even explode during the firing! While we make every effort to ensure the success of your pottery, these variables make it impossible to guarantee your work will survive in ideal condition.
